RUTH LEITHAL — PAINTER

Ruth Studied art at the University of California. Post graduate work and experience includes Special Education, Counseling Psychology, Interior Design and running a business all in abstract way influencing her painting today.

Currently working out of her studio in West Vancouver Ruth paints with acrylics preferring to paint large in a semi abstract style.

It seems first, I need to get my feet wet and create a big mess then proceed to an attempt at conquering the chaos with studying and feeling where the painting wants to go, hoping it finds a pleasing destination.

For the past two years, I’ve concentrated on figure drawing and as with my painting, the goal is largely to catch the gesture and emotion of the subject.
