I have been exploring salt fired pottery for the last 15 years. The textures and colours, as well as the unexpected surprises that salt firing brings is inspiring and exciting.
I make functional pottery for the home. Using pottery for cooking, eating and displaying food is a great pleasure, and a way to celebrate daily moments and rituals.
I was fortunate to live in Horseshoe Bay for almost 30 years, and had a kiln and studio at my home on Madrona Crescent. Now, I live in North Vancouver and share a studio at the wonderful Mergatroid Building in East Van. My new salt kiln is in Lund, north of Powell River where I go several times a year to fire.
It’s nice to be back at the Horseshoe Bay Art Walk this year!
